Chester when I first got him |
Chester is a special and very unique kitten. He has 24 toes, 7 on each front paw and 5 on each back paw. I didn't
notice this until after I bought him. It's cute because his front paws look like mittens, but it's also a bit scary because the
extra 2 toes on each of his front paws function like thumbs, so he can grab onto things. However, I still love him. He's my
baby in every aspect. He loves playing with me and he loves to snuggle. He also loves to give people kisses and he greets
people by touching noses with them. When I'm on the computer, he either lies on my lap and watches me type, or he curls up
in his bed beside me and goes to sleep. He also sleeps beside me in my bed at night. He loves playing with my dog Ruby.
The two of them are like best friends.
I got Chiquita on July 6, 2004 at a pet store near my home. I had wanted a chinchilla ever since I saw one on a kids'
animal show when I was about 6 or 7 years old.
Chiquita has proven to be very sweet, very friendly, and very social. She loves coming to the open cage door and sometimes
she even comes out into my hands for a good pet and scratch. She especially loves being scratched under her chin and behind
her ears. Every time she hears my voice or sees me, she comes to the side of the cage and makes little chirping noises so
I will stop and pet her.
I love watching her when she takes her dust baths in her dust house because the way she rolls around resembles clothes
tumbling in a dryer. It's just really funny to watch.
She loves the pellets I feed her and she loves Timothy hay, so I mix the two together in her dish and she delights in
eating this way. I like watching her eat because she picks up the pellets with one hand and nibbles on them. she eats Timothy
hay like we eat corn on the cob. Every time I give her a raisin as a treat, she snatches it and practically inhales it because
she likes it so much! It's really cute when she eats because her nose and whiskers wiggle.
She also has a special tooth conditioning block. When she chews it, it sounds like a miniature jackhammer and it's funny
to watch. That noise, however, has been my wake up call a couple of times!
I'm really glad that I got Chiquita because she's a good pet and she's easy to take care of. (Even though she does like
to kick her shavings out of the cage, LOL)
This is my one-year-old Jack Russell Terrier, named Ruby, a.k.a "Bonehead!" She gets into everything! She digs in the
garbage, shreds kleenex, eats things she's not supposed to (like my sandwich!), and she terrorizes my poor cats, especially
Sassy. However, she makes up for all of this by being really cute, loveable, and extremely affectionate. She "gives kisses"
constantly! She's really smart too! How can a dog that digs in garbage be smart you might ask? Well, she has a good trick
repetoire. She can sit pretty, dance, shake paws, give high fives and high tens, play dead, and then she has basically the
rest of the common dog tricks. She loves playing with my kitten Chester, and my sister's kitten Jasper, who I swear are
her best friends! They love playing with her too, although their idea of playing is jumping on her head! She loves
going for walks, and she especially enjoys bouncing around in the snow, usually getting it on her nose. She's a cute pet and
she's definitely my mom's baby! She sleeps by her feet under the blankets at night and likes to snuggle with her when she's
watching TV. She's adorable! The toy in the picture is one of her favourite toys. Her most favourite toy is a small pink teddy
bear that she takes to bed with her every night and brings downstairs in the morning, much like a small child would. She truly
is a big baby!
I bought Japser as a Christmas present for my sister last year. He has turned out to be extremely playful. He loves playing
with his fishing rod toy with feathers and a bell on the end, blind cords, balls, pom-poms, and pretty much anything else
that moves. You have to be careful when you walk because he attacks your feet. He really likes chasing bugs around and playfighting
with Chester and Ruby. Sometimes the three of them play tag just like children do, except the one that gets pounced on is
"it." Jasper and Chester are almost like brothers because they always play and snuggle up together. They also bathe each other.
Jasper can be extremely affectionate towards people too. He loves licking and giving love bites and he purrs wildly if you
pet him. He has a huge motor for being such a little kitten. Jasper sleeps in my room with me and Chester for the main part
because my sister doesn't like the fact that Jasper wakes her up in the middle of the night sometimes. Sometimes I will wake
up in the middle of the night and Jasper will be snuggled up against me on one side purring, and Chester will be on my other
side, doing the same thing. Jasper is the perfect example of the saying "curious cat," because he gets into things. For example, if
he hears water running, he will run to the sink and sit on the edge of it and then drink the water remaining when you're finished. All
in all, Jasper is just a really sweet little kitten and he fits in well with the other animals.
